Welcome to this week!
First of all, I never knew that the full moons had names… But when I saw WORM Moon I was very interested lol.
Apparently, it’s for spring and represents how the ground thaws and the first worms emerge. That makes sense but I live in North Carolina and it got way colder this week than the previous week. The worm moon also represents the declaration of love. So if you see my next newsletter and I’m engaged you know it was a good week haha!
Upcoming Events
Baseball Starts Thursday 3/28. LETS GO BRAVES!! Definitely have been binging the Behind The Braves YouTube series. It’s amazing how the sound design and camera come together to build up excitement for the new season. Our players are amazing and I’m hoping they don’t burn themselves out before the postseason like last year.
Good Friday is on Friday 3/29 (duh). Elevation has a service for Good Friday. I’m excited I get to have 2 services this week instead of just Sunday.
Easter Sunday this year is in March? I don’t know why it’s in March this year but I can draw some cute bunnies this weekend and that’s always fun. I love drawing little animals, the little fluffs.
Quote
“We’re going forwards with our tearstained faces, forward with our unanswered questions, forward with our unfinished faith-but forward.”
Furtick, Steven. Do The New You. FaithWords, 2024. p. 119.
Pastor Steven was talking about weasels and seeds in the third chapter of Do The New You. Weasels representing the negative things that we say to ourselves aboout our ideas. As an Artist this resonates so deeply with me. This is a common struggle especially in our community as artists. Always coming up with idea’s, getting super excited about it. Then once I start on it, I critsize myself until I stop completly. I made this lock screen to remind me of this and the powerful quote stating to keep going forward through the struggle.
5 Minute Rule: If you don’t want to do a task just commit to 5 minutes of doing the task. This eliminates the struggle of starting since that is always the hardest part. This also breaks down time into smaller blocks so you don’t spend 5 minutes scrolling and feeling bad and instead just start something.
Goal
My goal this week is to set smaller tasks and focus on my Adventure of the Day. This will help me not get overwhelmed with a million tasks and just be okay with doing what I need to finish each day.
Artist of Week
Derek Domnic D’Souza
I love his tutorials. He makes his drawings look so simple the way he explains it yet they turn out so good! The vibrant colors and interesting backgrounds put you in the scene. I feel like I’m in a K-Drama whenever I look at his peices.
What are your goals this week?
Do you have any drawings you’re working on right now?
Send me a message and I will feature you on the next newsletter
